There is a wealth of web-based training opportunities free-of-cost on the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) website. Additionally, the Richland County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Richland Newhope) offers various provider trainings throughout the year relating to areas required for certification and/or areas to enhance skills and understanding in the form of group or individual trainings. These may include medication administration, Person-Centered Thinking & Planning, “Provider 101,” rule changes, documentation requirements, provider forums, claim submission, Trauma-Informed Care, First Aid/CPR, MUI/Rights, Medicaid Service System, etc. Providers should check the Richland Newhope website frequently for updates.
If you are interested in accessing the Richland County Board of DD’s most recent annual MUI and Rights training, please contact Provider Recruiter/Development Coordinator Mary Dalbey at email@example.com for more information. She will e-mail the handouts, slides, and links to watch the videos online. There are also DVDs available at our Service & Support Administration (SSA) building, 220 Home Ave., that can be checked out and viewed either at the SSA building or at your home. In order to receive a certificate for the training, you must watch the videos, take (and pass) a short quiz, and then return the completed quiz in to Mary Dalbey. At that time you will be asked to sign a form attesting that you watched the videos and understand the information. Once this is completed, will you will be issued your certificate of training. MUI training is required every calendar year for all providers and county board staff.
