PRIMARY FUNCTION:  Develops and implements early intervention educational programs based on current research for Part C eligible children and families within the natural environment including home/childcare/ or other natural settings.

Mission and Vision: Represents Richland Newhope in a professional manner with families and community members.  Exemplifying the Board’s mission and principles of Person-Centered Excellence while performing job responsibilities.  Represents Richland Newhope in a professional manner in all correspondence and interaction with individuals, families, guardians, providers, staff and other stakeholders.  Emphasizes choice to families and children through active listening.  Assists children and their families to be active members of their community.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Currently holds Developmental Specialist Credential from Dept of Developmental disabilities or completion of a BS/BA Degree in early childhood education, or special education or family science   and experience working in a with families and their young (0-6) children with and without disabilities. Must be able to bend, stoop, lift and transfer up to 50 pounds with no restriction.  Must be able to be physically active throughout the workday.  Valid OH Driver’s License; must be able to transport self and be able to maintain insurability as required by Board Policy. 

 CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:  Must hold or obtain and maintain DODD Developmental Specialist Certification.  May be required to obtain course work at own expense for initial certification as well as renewals.
