PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Medicaid Services Specialist (MSS) is responsible for completing eligibility and service authorizations to support people through the Medicaid Waiver and Supported Living programs. The MSS must be comfortable participating in team meetings in order to develop budgets in the most efficient and effective manner. Responsibilities include utilizing person-centered processes to assure that people’s rights and health and safety are maintained in accordance with statutes and regulations. This position requires someone that is able to complete technical tasks from start to finish with high quality and accuracy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a Bachelor’s degree. At least 1-year paid work experience in human services or business. One-year proven experience in budgeting, managing agency resources, or financial recordkeeping, is preferred. Meets or exceeds necessary certification requirements. May be required to take additional training within 12 months of employment.
Must possess and maintain a valid Ohio Driver’s License and vehicle insurance. Must be able to transport self and/or people served.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have or be eligible to obtain Service and Support Administration certification through DODD. May be required to obtain course work at own expense for initial certification as well as renewals.
Successful completion of all trainings necessary to carry out job duties including, but not limited to, Level of Care, Acuity Assessment Instrument and Ohio Developmental Disability Profile.
