Richland Newhope 2024 March Awareness Activities

WHAT: 5th Annual Step into Spring

WHEN:  Friday, March 1, 2024. Registration opens at 10 a.m. (walk starts at 10:30 a.m.)

WHERE: Richland Mall

Richland Newhope, Richland Public Health, Richland County Children Services, and the Richland Mall are sponsoring this free event open to the public to celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and promote community inclusion. In addition to the walk, several supportive community vendors will be in attendance.

WHAT: Richland Newhope’s Annual Bowling Awareness Event

WHEN: Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 10 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

WHERE: Lex Lanes

This annual event brings together junior high students and county dignitaries from the community for an afternoon of fun, camaraderie, and awareness-building surrounding developmental disabilities. The goal is to promote understanding, friendship, and inclusion while fostering a sense of unity among young individuals.

WHAT: Richland Newhope’s Annual Community Awareness Day

WHEN: Thurs., March 14, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

WHERE: Mansfield/Richland County Public Library

Newhope, a leading advocate for community engagement and awareness, is thrilled to announce its Annual Community Awareness Day, specifically tailored for members of Leadership Unlimited. This event aims to provide participants with a deeper understanding of local community needs, foster collaboration, and inspire impactful leadership within the developmental disability field.

WHAT: Family Day

WHEN: Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

WHERE: Buckeye Imagination Museum

Families enrolled in our services will be welcomed to the Buckeye Imagination Museum to connect and play as a family. This event promises an evening filled with imagination, exploration, and family fun at the renowned Buckeye Imagination Museum, known for its innovative exhibits and commitment to inspiring creativity in visitors of all ages.

WHAT: The Improvaneer Method

WHEN: Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

WHERE: Theater 166

The world’s first all Down syndrome improvisation troupe will perform at Renaissance Theater 166! The Improvaneer Method uses improvisation to teach skills that significantly increase social, workplace, and lifetime opportunities for those with developmental disabilities.
